June 2016
During the latest terror attacks in London a young Canadian woman called Chrissy (Christine) Archibald lost her life. Chrissy previously worked in a homeless shelter and her family asked that people honour her memory by helping to improve their communities.
The family asked people – “Volunteer your time and labour or donate to a homeless shelter”
“Tell them Chrissy sent you”
In response to this Broxtowe Youth Homelessness were contacted by several people wanting to honour Chrissy by offering their support. This inspired us to open our doors on Monday 12th June to accept food donations. The food donated will make up food parcels for young people aged 16-25 years old across Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire who are in some form of housing crisis.
The event was so successful and the local community gave generously.
We are proud to have played our part in honouring Chrissy.
