Homeless Winter Survival Packs

October 2016
Rough sleeping in Nottingham has reached its highest level for nearly 20 years, with Derby experiencing a similar crisis. Although Broxtowe Youth Homelessness is not situated in the city and the surrounding areas so far have very low figures for rough sleeping we do want to be prepared if we are approached by anyone rough sleeping.
In Nottingham City the Malt Cross are putting together Homeless Winter Survival Packs that can be given out by their street pastors on Friday and Saturday nights to anyone who is sleeping rough and can’t access help and support until Monday. At Broxtowe Youth Homelessness we would like to be able to provide a similar services, on a smaller scale. We aim to provide Homeless Winter Survival Pack alongside information about services where they will be able to access further help and support.
The packs will contain –
– Unisex toiletries pack
– Survival blanket
– First aid kit
– Thermal socks
– Thermal hat
– Thermal gloves
– Flask
– Sleeping bag
– Bottled water
– Snacks
Depending on funding we will aim to include a £10 Tesco voucher so they are able to purchase further food and drink.
We are aiming to raise £150.00 to initially make up 3 homeless winter survival packs. You can donate at using the donate button at the top of the page.
Alternatively we have created an Amazon Wish List, so if you would prefer to purchase an item needed for the packs that would also be greatly appreciated –

Any additional funds raised will go towards our food, toiletry and home starter packs.
Thank you for your help and support.
